In March, while Mark was in Madison at the Wisconsin High School Basketball Tournament with the guys (Catfish Crew), I made a quick (surprise) trip to Kansas to visit my family. My dad, sister Terry, and Aunt Colene knew about it. To say the least, my mom was definitely surprised, but it was a good surprise (or as Makena would say...."persize").
Mom and sister Sherry at El Publito's......excellent Mexican food!

Mom and Sherry tried to take a picture (make that 6 or 7 pictures) of Terry and me, but the flash always made Terry blink and so we couldn't get a picture of us with her eyes open. We opted for a picture of Terry with her sunglasses on....and Sherry with her sunglasses on too. I'm in the middle. :-)

On the way home, just north of Iola, KS, I had a little run in with a deer.......dumb deer! When I saw the deer, he/she was at the front, right side of my car and I swerved (no cars were coming toward me) to the left and the deer must have tried to go back right and then I felt the car side-swipe the deer and I was freaked out! I just knew there'd be a dent in the car. I stopped at the Iola exit to check the damage, but only saw some deer hair caught between the black plastic and red siding just behind the right rear tire. You can see it in the picture below and you can see where the deer rubbed up against the car. I figure becuase of the dent resistant Saturn, the car didn't get damaged. I was so thankful (thank you God!!!!!) that I didn't hit the deer head on! Dumb deer!

Garrett's 2nd birthday party on March 8, 2008. He got his own 4-wheeler.

Garrett is enjoying a ring sucker.

On Saturday night, my mom, dad, and I went to the Country Time Music Theatre in Coffeyville. The cost was (I think) $7 and let me tell you, it was worth it. I absolutely loved it! It really was a lot of fun and the price wasn't too bad! If you love country music, I'd highly recommend going to the show.
On my way back to Wisconsin, I was able to stop in Kansas City and have lunch with some great friends at Cracker Barrel. Here's a picture of Kole and Terryl with their kids Sara and Colin.

The girls: Lynell, Jonay, Sherrie, & Leah.

The girls again: Lynell, Jonay, Sherrie, & Debbie.
A video of Garrett on his 4-wheeler for his 2nd birthday. The helmet might be a little heavy for him, but he can manage.
